https://www.pinterest.com/ssanch7/boards/¡Hola queridos! We are living during a very surreal and frightening time. The Corona Virus has literally taken the world by storm and is forcing us to change our lifestyles in order to contain the spread of the pandemic. Many of us are finding ourselves in situations where we will be homeschooling our children for the first time. I want to make sure that during this time of confusion and change for our pequeños, and us, that I am providing you with the utmost value. I hope to make this as smooth as possible for everyone while making sure that you have to for your nenes to learn at home every day.
Learning at Home
In general, each week will have a topic or theme. I will find or create activities that go along with that week’s theme. My goal is to provide at least one idea for Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Art (crafts). Most of these will be geared for kids in the range of toddler and pre-school up until about 4th or maybe even 5th grade. As much as possible I will be providing both English and Spanish resources. I will be using both Usborne Books & More titles as well as non-Usborne titles.
I will go live each day in my Facebook Community and read aloud one or two books (Note: due to copyright laws recording will not be available for replay). After the live, I will post a link to a Pinterest Board with ideas and an updated Google Drive link with resources I’ve created. I am making these available for $FREE.99 to members of my community and therefore ask for the professional kindness of resources not being shared outside of the group at the risk of being removed.
What about older nenes?
¡No los he olvidado! For independent readers, I am frantically working to create novel studies. I’m starting with books I know people have previously purchased so that they may add some academic value to their previous purchases. Beyond that, I will be choosing other books from my inventory that would be interesting and non-Usborne books as well. Again, all of these will be free resources. If you see a book that you might like but don’t own, you can always purchase it through my virtual storefront. (Usborne Books & More is providing FREE shipping for orders of $80+ between now and March 18, 2020)These will take longer to prepare so I ask that you please be patient as I will have my own nenes at home with me.
What about the mamás?
I haven’t forgotten you either. My sisters and I currently host a virtual book club every last Thursday of the month via Zoom. This month we are reading “The Lost Children Archive” by Valeria Luiselli. Please reach out to me if you’d like to join us. In addition, I’m thinking about adding a second Mamá’s Night In via Zoom where we can just commiserate over a glass of our favorite beverages. More details to come.
Stay tuned for more info. ¡Ciao!
